While University research facilities provide essential new techniques, the quality assurance necessary for Forensic Casework might not be available in these research facilities. At the same time, setting up a national dedicated Wildlife Forensic laboratory is often too expensive: the techniques are used rarely and a range of staff are needed. Read this paper to find some suggestions of how the provision of local, national and regional Wildlife Forensic Services can be improved while keeping costs as low as possible.
